Ikechukwu Anthony, Kanu, OSA is a friar of the Order of Saint Augustine, and a Professor of African philosophy and Religious Traditions, Department of Philosophy, Veritas University Abuja. He is also a Tenured Professor of African Theology and Orthodox Studies, University of America, Temecula, California; a Visiting Professor of Philosophy to Tansian University Umunya; University of Jos; Augustinian Institute Makurdi: Saint Augustine’s Major Seminary Jos; and Saint Albert the Great Major Seminary Abeokuta.

Professor Kanu has a PhD in African Philosophy from Selinus University, London; a PhD in African Traditional Religion from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka; a PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from Selinus University, London; he has an MA in Metaphysics from the University of Nigeria Nsukka; an MA in African Traditional Religion from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka; an MA in Theology and Orthodox Studies from The University of America, Temecula, California; an MA in Higher Institution Administration from the same University. Added to these is a Bachelors of Philosophy from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome; a Bachelors of Theology from the University of Jos, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from National Open University of Nigeria.

He has to his credit more than 600 published articles and conference papers in both national and international academic platforms. His works are a harvest of crystallized multi-dimensional thoughts that keep the fascination of the multidisciplinary approach attractive in modern times.

He is the recipient of several awards, and notable among them are: the Louis Althusser Golden Award in 2021 by Eudoxia Research Institute, India, and the 2020 Kwameh Nkrumah Transformational Leadership Medal by the African Institute for Public Administration, Ghana. Added to these are three honorary doctorate degrees in Education, Public Administration and Metaphysics from citadels of academic excellence in London and the United States of America.

Professor Kanu is the founder of the Association for the Promotion of African Studies, the proponent of IGWEBUIKE Philosophy, which he holds to be the operative condition of the thermodynamics of African Philosophy, Religion and Culture. He is currently the Director of Research, Publications and Linkages at Veritas University Abuja (The Catholic University of Nigeria).
